Hi, I'm eighty4bs! I've been sewing since I was a little girl (taught by my dad and great aunt), but it wasn't until I was in college that I tapped back into that part of my life. I was working on my civil-environmental engineering degree and needed a creative outlet to take my mind away from structural analysis and wastewater treatment. The outdoors has always been my top priority in life (been skiing and biking since I could walk) so I started altering my clothes and gear to my liking and starting making things that I could use while playing outside. After my roommate, Zoe, started making and selling the Zuko hat, I was inspired to create a hat of my own that could be worn together and compliment her creation. After graduation in 2023, I knew I didn't want to get a “real” job right away and after moving to Aspen and getting a job at a restaurant (shout-out to Big Wrap!), I continued tinkering with sewing and started making hats for my friends. My hats got more and more traction, and I began selling my hats at the ski shop where my boyfriend works, and since then I've had friends and family that aren't local to Aspen expressing interest in my hats! Never thought that my creative outlet would ever turn into something like this, but I'm excited to share it with all of you here :)
